There should be a cd with the kit, on this you’ll find a PDF manual, download this to your pc and it will tell you how to use the encryption.
I’ve just bought the 85 Mbps version after my Devolo plugs gave out. The Netgear seems to work far better.
Powerline adapters cause interference to shortwave and other radios up to 500 metres away from your house.
They are not EMC compliant It is old technology and using mains siring instead of proper network cabling which is balanced and/or screened. This allows RF to radiate hence problems.
Far better to use Ethernet or wifi. In certain conditions it can slow down your broadband connection
Bollocks mate, wifi is nothing like as good as powerline. On a 100mbit connection using powerline expect around 6mbps (when encrypted) transfer speed which is only a loss of 40mbit.
That is WAY faster than any internet connection you could buy. Its very nearly as fast pc to pc as ethernet and about 3 times as fast as wireless and way more reliable.
